Vintage Floral Truck & Afternoon Tea

On the way to our first tea ceremony, the girls and I visit a darling cut flower truck serendipitously parked near the French bakery. They each picked a single stem to tote around for the remainder of the day and find its resting place in tiny glass jars in their dollhouse.

The girls are at an age where they’re very eager learners. Curiosity drives every single area of their studies. The vintage flower truck was full of wonder for them as they patiently wait in line to select a blush peony and watermelon carnation.

Our jaws drop when we saw our last name on the reserved table tag at the French bakery. The girls slid into the velvet green cushions of the banquette. Their yellow dresses popped against the background and I smiled at the beauty of the unprecendented moment.

Sugar cubes, tasting menu, and pecan butter for scones decorate the black tablecloth. We felt so special as the owner and head chef patiently took time to chat with us about our tea tower, Mary Poppins and the French- Louisianan marriage she made out of her delicious menu.

We pretend to be ladies in Paris! Everything was delightful to behold. As such the girls had no qualms storming the tea tower with eager fingers. They tried everything! I sigh with relief thinking certainly this was an unexpected accomplishment for future travel hopes. Of course, the girls went for the sweets first and we took quite a few treats home to share with the boys too. It was a day of memories.
