We Are An Atmosphere
What a fabulous perspective to understand one of the most creative things a mother can do is build and cultivate the palace called home.
Our home can be a refuge, haven, warm place to which ourselves and others experience love and nurturing.
No matter how old or young, I am convinced we all enjoy good mothering.
Mothering that stops everything at your arrival. Mothering that opens her door, takes your coat, and puts something warm in your hands and satisfying in your belly. She takes deep interest in your wanderings and journey. She wants to know all the little details which have unfolded since you’ve last parted. She provides cozy accomodations and ensures a good nights rest under her care and tedious eye. She cooks your favorite things and even a few your palette or eye have not yet encountered.
You leave her home refreshed and invigorated.
Like our home atmosphere, we too, as persons, create an atmosphere for others to enter. We are environments. We have the magnificent power to create a home people want to visit but what’s more is to hone a presence people enjoy entering.
Others have the great discomfort or great pleasure of encountering us for a period of time. May it be the latter we harness for this wounded world seeking mothering.
